This is a monthly newsletter for busy people who care about climate change but aren’t sure what to do. In each newsletter, I write about one personal action you can take now and why that action matters, and then I recommend one action you can take to change the systems.
I’m a working mom and I keep it real. Sometimes responding to climate change feels like too much to consider. I get overwhelmed, and I’m sure you do, too. I write about those struggles and celebrate the wins. Mostly, I write about practical habits we can build into our days and how those shifts are cumulatively important. We are all part of the system. My favorite tips are ones that are not expensive or time consuming.
About me: I’m a writer, professor, mother, and environmental activist. My memoir, Wait for God to Notice, narrates my childhood growing up in Uganda. My work has appeared in New York Times, Brevity, Best of the Net, ElectricLit, Baltimore Review, Booth, among others. I live in upstate New York with my husband and daughter and teach at SUNY Oswego.
